The Gîtes d'Etapes Eupen reopens its doors
Closed since April 2012, the Eupen Jugendherberge officially opened on 25 February 2016, in a festive atmosphere. During the closure period, the hostel was completely renovated (respecting the historical building), resulting in a greener infrastructure, more comfortable and also more accessible.
After 18 months of work, the hostel is completely redesigned: simplified plan, optimization of the stairs, new heating, redevelopment of the caves and terrace. The hostel counts now a total of 104 beds in 28 rooms.
The hostel wants to be accessible for all audiences, not only backpackers, youth movements, families, sport clubs and other school groups - who already visit the hostel often - but also to all people with a disability. Thus, with a ramp, elevator and suitable toilets, the Eupen Hostel can now accommodate 20 persons with disabilities.
